The Taliban is a cartel, and Kadyrov ain't into Sharia. I don't know who you're comparing to the Taliban.

@agentofsorros that's hilariously baseless. You can't just say there were both separatists and Islamic extremists in Chechnya back then?

He's definitely more badass than you'll ever be.

Not sure, but most STDs in Russia were transmitted during Soviet era blood transfusions. Back in those days they put all the blood from thousands of donors in one container.

@jfmorache you should get off the internet for for a few months

He fights Islamic extremists. His religion is irrelevant.

@yacined4190 come on. You know it ain't true zero. Besides, see my previous comment about Soviet blood drives.

There's nothing new in this report. VICE actually did this guy already.

No, he definitely isn't. I bet your life on it.

Since when do we Americans pronounce foreign names right?

About the "LGBQ genocide," besides the misuse of the word genocide we can't verify anything about the incidents. Allegedly certain men were beaten for being gay, but in Muslim countries being called gay is like being called a pedo: People baselessly throw the allegation at anyone they hate. On top of that, Chechnya's official response to the incidents was there could not have been abuse against gays because, they said, they had none. Also, this is Russia, where there has NEVER been any gay culture whatsoever nor any gays that I know of outside this incident (LGBQ is a distinctly western thing). All that said, it is more likely that certain men were jailed on fraudulent homosexuality charges than any other crime. Kadyrov was probably telling the truth at 6:30 when he said the witch hunt they had been on was totally baseless.
1
@DonceBeats There's a lot of exaggerated speculation about it, but most of the sources I've seen are total trash, damning whole populations without siting any specific case. Gays aren't any more a thing in eastern Europe than necrophilia is.

Kadyrov fights Islamic extremists who are often one and the same with the separatists. The fact Kadyrov is Muslim is immaterial here.

One of the horror stories was that, allegedly, a couple men were beaten for the charge of being gay. Chechnya, of course, denied the incident, but also said it could not have happened because there were no gays in Chechnya. Caveats: 1. There really are no gays of any consequence in Russia. LGBQ is a western thing. 2. In Muslim countries, being called gay is like being called a pedo. People throw around the allegation at anyone they hate. Did someone get beaten with a fraudulent homosexuality charge? Either way, this report has no original research and baselessly uses the term genocide. Most things presented as fact are actually rumors that may or may not have been exaggerated in the retelling. Also they fail to mention there really are Islamic extremists in Chechnya and you can't ascribe everything that happens there to Kadyrov's regime.

Except Kadyrov said point blank said the witch hunt was fruitless.
1
To be fair to him, there are very real Islamic extremists in Chechnya.

Paul Smith weird rhetoric.

There doesn't appear to be any original journalism here.

@DeepfriedNutz who said anything about that? I said his religion has nothing to do with the wars he fights. He'd still be fighting the same people if he were Catholic... Cuz he's Russian.

Tell it to his boss.

The US only has harsh words when it comes to Russia's internal affairs.
1
@freddaniel6796 we got a whole lot more stuff happen than that turdhole. And Russia has got nukes and an unshackled economy, what are you asking people to do?
1
Saddam gassed entire towns because of guerrillas seen in the area

Genocides aren't a fraction as frequent as you probably imagine
