"The case is part of a broader assault on the Amazon." And yet, you have no interest in stating what the lawsuit is about, who's the plaintiff, or what arguments are presented.

@user-em6ie2be7x I'm a historian. I don't get my factual info from advocacy groups. Like this video, it presented as fact the lawsuit was part of a larger campaign to take native land and culture, an assertion that would only need to be made if the scriptwriters thought that reasonable people might believe the opposite. They also ignore the who, what, and why of the lawsuit making this an obvious garbage editorial from the start. They also make no distinction between the many different native groups in Brazil that feud with each other as often as anyone else. They also deliberately imply that all of the outsiders investing in the Amazon are mafiosos and political cronies which is simply false.

Bolsonaro had nothing to do with this. And his policy with the Amazon is no different than the last dozen Brazilian presidents. And no one is trying to genocide the natives at this time.

@poal573 virtually all the Brazilians are native. I mean this literally, as there's only about 400,000 ethnic Europeans in all Brazil all of which were born in country. The "outsiders" these "natives" are feuding with are simply native to the much more populous and industrialized south of the country.

Do not ascribe to malice what can be adequately explained by incompetence. Vice is an American leftist source and indescriminately supports "natives" even if they don't know basic facts about the country in question. A lot of these guys think the "non-natives" are Spaniards and a lot of people blame Bolsonaro for everything in Brazil simply because he encouraged investment in the Amazon.

Brazil's government is a reflection of its people.

ᴛᴀᴘ ᴍᴇ ᴀɴᴅ sᴇᴇ Olivia dude, a lot of these natives are Christian and a lot of the internal migrants aren't. Nor is there any grand scheme to change demographics. Turf wars got nuttin to do with religion.

Because most of the complaints against him are either fraudulent or ignore basic facts about Brazil. Because the Brazilian army is badass and loyal. And because anyone who might replace him will do the exact same things he does.

Please leave Brazil to people who know basic facts about Brazil.
1
That has nothing to do with this, and are you implying a terror attack is needed?

There are no defined traditional borders and many of those lines are obsolete due to migration and new industrial towns, and most of these natives protesting speak Portuguese, and the "non-native" Brazilians are simply Portuguese speaking natives with a touch of European in them from the south. This conflict is like if Alaska tried to become a commonwealth state instead of a full-blown state.

"Outsiders have been coming in with guns." You mean business investors? Sure, they often have weapons, but you shouldn't encourage Brazilians to shoot themselves in the foot by indiscriminately damning most of Brazil including other native tribes.

These type of feuds are always the most annoying, because it's blindingly obvious who wins but people insist on making noise anyway.
1
Indigenous rights and green conservation have nothing to with each other. These natives WANT investment and migration in the Amazon.

It was never stolen.
