Thinking about Nazi vision for the east. It sounds like they were trying to recreate early Medieval Norse/Crusader/Kievan states. But those states didn't mass enslave the locals...

@TheImperatorKnight Marx and Lenin would have classed any Christian dominated state as imperial, certainly. Hitler, I'm not sure, as he didn't have a grudge against his parent's religion and he equated the Vikings and Holy Roman Empire with the Germans. The only place all Socialists would agree on wasn't imperial would be archaic "pristine" hunter-gatherer clans that we know little about.

During the Russian Civil War, a coalition of Whites, Japanese, and American forces seized virtually the whole of Siberia for a time. The coalition collapsed due to infighting, Green forces, Red guerrillas, US preoccupation with the Great War, and most importantly White defeats west of the Urals.

@QuizmasterLaw googling... All I got is a Slavic band and a term that means either slave or thrall. And I certainly didn't mean to imply either of those things weren't common back in the day, as was extortion and revenge murder. The difference is the Nazis were talking about enslaving entire surviving populations.
