Comments by "Samson Soturian" (@samsonsoturian6013) on "Did the Allied policy of ‘unconditional surrender’ prolong WW2?" video.
A negotiated peace probably wouldn't have seen Korean independence

Inhumane? In wartime we shoot men in the face for wearing the wrong uniform. I somehow doubt seeking total victory in order to secure permanent peace qualifies as inhuman. And if you watched the video you'd see a lot of competing demands played into this, much of which did not go in the Soviets favor.
2
Sounds like the "War is a Racket" sort of bullshit.
2
Some of these are actual trolls, who think starting arguments is funny. Some are Holocaust deniers who are largely trolls too but treat it like a full-time job. Some are socialists who never anything nice about TIK because of a few weird things he said years ago. Don't confuse these with the many European watchers of this channel who have a variety of historical perceptions you'd find weird.
2
You didn't watch the video, did you?
2
Except the idea of Germany landing in America was delusional even in 1941.
2
Many have said that, and married their conquerors anyway.
2
@Graymenn Does that matter? Yeah, women marrying soldiers in armies of occupation is common but so's ex-soldiers moving out of their homeland.

Unconditional surrender only applied in select areas. However, the guys that pretended to hate said policy were also refusing to fight (including many high ranking officers).

That's not what I would call it. The Germans felt like they were winning when they got checkmated, hence the grudge and checkmate. Likewise the French still felt like they were losing, hence the vindictive acts after the war.
1
Have you been spamming that?
1
It is. You lying to make dead guys look bad is much more conceivable.
1
Vhut?
1
Come now. Everyone knew in that case unconditional surrender was simply forcible re-admittance into the Union.
1
Even if he did, he and his team thought human life was fundamentally predatory. If it wasn't one war today, it'd be another one tomorrow.
1
Everyone was going after national rivals. A bunch of independent wars were going on at once
1
A lot of things would have been different, but it probably wouldn't have been better or worse.
1
There was definitely enthusiasm for war in Germany. Just like everywhere else

@mothman2514 googling... FDR in WWII, k.
1
@mothman2514 you'd be surprised how often Holocaust denial and related junk gets peddled on serious history spaces.
1
@mothman2514 Uh... That wasn't necessarily so as the people deluded that war is profitable always turn out to be thieves and liars, not necessarily conspiritards.
1
Screw that game
1
Do we care if it did?
1
That's silly. No one wants a war
1
@Dontshootthemessenger-l6h liars burn in hell.
1
Not if you know anything
1
@Bobby fis I heard there were a couple guys in training to administer "the territories" in the new world at one point.
1
Do we care if it did?

@Graymenn Annihilation of armies is extremely rare. Losing 1/3 soldiers is usually immediately decisive. Why you think most Americans have ancestries on both sides of the Civil War, Revolutionary War, and/or Indian Wars? As Lincoln said "I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends."
