  13. So? It doesn't hurt the company, and if you do it well you will reduce volatility and bring the stock price closer to true fair value. Key point: The stock price has NOTHING to do with a company's real value. It has to do with what investors THINK is the real value.

  28. BTW, the shorts Hwang got in trouble for were NOT bets against the company but rather trickery. He entered into a contract to buy a large amount of shares at a discount on the condition he did not sell for a long time. However, when he deposited the shares into his account, he already had already shorted at the current price allowing for an instant profit.
