  3. Googling... Can confirm. Over 6% of mining took place there in 2020 due to comparatively cheap electricity and a Laissez-faire government. The current President wants crypto to be regulated, but signed a bill legalizing it anyway. All this together brought in miners from as far afield as Japan.

  4. That's why civil protests are largely a zeitgeists of the last two centuries in the west, and even when they become riots we make excuses blaming the authorities for everything even when it makes no sense.

  7. It's Kazakh not Kazakhstani. Kazakh is from the Russian "Cossack" and -stan is from the Persian for "land."

  10. The reason behind any riot/protest is always the same: A lot of different people want to be in charge. It is likely the looters and the elites each acted on their personal initiative.
