  1. The origin of the feud was the last President is accused of receiving bribes while he was a governor, which he denies of course, alleging it's just libel to be rid of him. Whether or not that's true is unknown, but he certainly acted as if he expected people to believe in his innocence when he tried to dissolve Congress. Most Peruvian Presidents retire to a jail cell. This is just business as usual.
