  1. In Chicago, there are more coyotes now than there were when the Chicago Indians lived there. The coyotes adapted by becoming fully nocturnal, digging burrows in parks, and eating pest animals like raccoons, mice, rabbit, squirrel, and birds. The Chicagoans leave them be.
