Guys, it's simple. By Chinese law it is illegal to refuse to help the authorities when asked. If the Ministry of State Security wants to install bugs in Huawei electronics, then the execs will be committing a felony if they don't.

@N.C that's neither the same thing, nor is that is what the law says. Companies must comply with surveillance warrants signed by a judge. At one point Apple's security was found to be good enough that a judge ordered them to backdoor it for the FBI. The Intelligence Community, however, relies on volunteer contractors. Former CIA agents say they never had any shortage of volunteers since everyone they approach thinks working for CIA is the coolest thing ever.
