  17. @simonwatson2399  it wasn't a mistake in design that killed the titan, he knew there was a list of potentially unsolvable problems that would each kill eventually. To quote Stockton himself "Even if it kills me, I will visit the Titanic this year."

  18. @jerrycallo  but will it get to the bottom of the ocean and return? One of Stockton's inventions was a deep sea window that didn't distort the view of the outside, but he didn't have the money to get safety certified for diving so he ignored the regs.

  19.  @simonwatson2399  Weird libel, because your statements conflict. If it wasn't patentable, then it wouldn't need certified. And the window worked, it was found intact in the wreckage. The problem is to be safety certified the Feds required 5 destructive tests with at least one of those tests on a full sized model and the design must not fail before a certain threshold even once. Stockton could not afford that, so I would ask you NOT to smear the names of men you don't know or care about.
