That's how most professional athletes are produced, frankly.

Guys, let's be frank and state most of these kills are gangsters fighting gangsters over rackets.
12
And you thought we had problems...
6
That changes nothing. You'll still have gangsters fighting over money.
6
They call them Islamists. Which in Britain isn't a compliment.
4
@julianshepherd2038 it's not the fact it's criminal, it's the existence of men willing to fight for money. If you take one source of fast cash, they'll just find another.
4
Iranian? She has a British accent and clearly a British perspective. We don't care where her family is from.
3
@abby-a It's just something my family pieced together where we noted every athlete we ever knew had parents that also liked sports a lot. And we also saw in our own family that priorities were different. Namely my brother once got offered a modest soccar scholarship but saw the amount of time that demanded would kill his history studies, so he chose school over sports and is now a teacher. Guess which one our parents value?

To conceal their identities from reprisals

There's more to Gaza than just silly politics. This reporter doesn't know as much about the area as he thinks he does (most of those "Hamas soldiers" don't work for Hamas").
3
The locals wouldn't want foreign intervention

@khadijah3519 a lot of the meth and weed in the US is made in Mexico. We catch coyotes with it all the time. But meth and weed are the more common illegal drugs in the US simply because they can be made in the US. To show how difficult smuggling is: The price of drugs more than quadruples the instant it crosses the fence from Mexico into the US. Also, the abundance of gangs in Latin America means illicit drugs are just another commodity. Drug makers interviewed say they paid a decent amount by local standards but not enough to get rich and there's all the risks associated with being an outlaw.

10:15 To be fair, that number includes muscle weight as well as fat. But the kid is visibly very fat.
2
Except he does. And his competition would do the same to him.
2
It's just an extreme example of sporting culture. Everyone wants to be the star, everyone wants to be the most powerful, everyone wants to please their parents. Except in this case they're literally killing themselves.
2
Dude, it is not experimental at this point. Been spamming that rhetoric for a while, haven't you?
2
These idiots also think the Hindis have a grand conspiracy to conquer by marrying their women.
2
@adrienperie6119 Dude, it's life. Some people fight over tiny things and some people don't.
2
They'd just fight over licenses and tax revenues, then.
2
@DrTomoe-em7rs I assume you mean Europeans who speak fluent English. They mostly learn British English. Most others learn American English.
1
Says who? Your gang associates?
1
Don't ascribe to malice what can be adequately explained by incompetence.
1
The band doesn't have to break any specific laws to get shut down, it just needs to tick off men with guns. Which is inevitable since they're trying to play politics with plays. And I saw a cross in the background, so is this group run by a church?
1
Baseless libel. Bug off
1
Shut up
1
The thing about water is you only have enough when there's no problem throwing lots of it away.
1
The US is not the only end destination for dope. In fact cocaine can be hard to get ahold of because difficulty smuggling it up here. Locally produced meth is preferred.
1
Ha.
1
Vhut? There's plenty of less extreme examples in Britain and America. You will find most pro athletes have parents that actively encouraged them to put sports before school.
1
@guff9567 yours too? Look at the family they tailed, I see a father living vicariously through his son and hoping he lives a dream he never got to. And I see a son whose happiness comes from pleasing his father. There's a big difference between vice and malice.
1
@guff9567 Are you? I've seen young men go through worse things just to please people who cared nothing for them. What you see here is just sporting culture driven to ludicrous extremes. Everyone wants to be the star. Everyone wants to please their familes. Everyone wants to be the most powerful.
1
@guff9567 the video says otherwise. In fact, you see people freely discuss things you would thought were grave secrets. Come on, this is the culture that puts mayonnaise on ice cream, don't be surprised when they have wildly different ideas of sportsmanship.
1
How is dealing with this water situation easier than finding work/housing outside the city?
1
Oh yes, even in a place allegedly desolate of modernization you have the things that count. These idiots use a semi to deliver dirty water and still pretend they're a middle-income country.
1
Yes, but a lot of these idiots are also stealing from the city, while others have to deliver it by truck. The basic fact is they lack the competency to do even the most basic problem-solving. Namely installing steel pipes and pumping stations to get water in from further inland.
1
@CmdrSoCal liars burn in hell
1
Not quite. There wasn't as much silliness with other types of vaccines, although there were cases where witchdoctors spread rumors where modern medicine was an evil magic. In this case, the rumors seemed to have been exported alongside the medicine, and when you mix that with poor education things get really weird.
1
You're missing the key point where they really do love each other and even if they do get paid it won't cover the cost of getting the job. The kid is so eager to please his parents and be the star that he jumps into it eagerly and willingly. This is how most pro athletes are produced, but this is a very extreme case, and many things in Japan are taken to absurd extremes.
1
No one said anything like that
1
@anomalytm05 fighting over pennys worth of anything is degenerative
1
There is certainly some racketeering involved, but understand a lot of these guys have a "my way or the highway" attitude. Also, they seem to lack the competency to install a steel pipe and pumping station needed to move water from inland.
1
Dude, these are Equadoran gangsters fighting each other.
1
@thetotalpackage2362 this is why you're never going to be a politician....
