  5.  @pyscez93  I'm sure all those thoughts are connected in your head, but they make no sense on paper. And the reason Haiti is mostly African is because large amounts of West African kings made kidnapping for slave trade their revenue source and Haiti happens to be where the French plantations were. The DR was the Spanish colony and is now largely decendended from natives and don't give a rip about Haiti one way or the other. And more importantly, I don't think Haitians hurting each other has anything to do with skin color. Wouldn't you say.

  8.  @bobdole27  Dude, this is a place where in one case a man kidnapped a child, and when he found out the mother had no money for ransom he killed the kid. Hamilton from VICE found three voodoo scammers all selling zombie powder during his brief visit. And just as importantly, this is a place that not only genocided their French population, but whose national heroes are freed slave who immediately proceeded to enslave their neighbors. The only difference that while before they were fighting over tax farms and plantations, now they're fighting over drug rackets.

And the city itself is very much the center of a single state with one economy, culture, and people. There's really no behavioral difference between the countryside and the city.
