  1. Culiacán has always been the capital of Sinaloa (both the state and cartel of that name). Sicarios interviewed there were found to not exactly be hiding from police.

  3. This guy's info is years outdated. The Jalisco Cartel has seized many corridors formally belonging to Sinaloa due to the latter's entire high command going defunct. Other branches of Sinaloa are now independent, the largest being the Culiacán ran by the son of El Chapo.

  4.  @sarahss4250  Dude, the Mexicans have no bones about how it's a systemic issue. As one Sinaloa sicario said "The girls are drawn to the rich and powerful, they don't care if you're a doctor or a gangster." Or how in many towns most of the policemen killed are shot at their house because the municipal government doesn't even trust their own cops with personal weapons. Or how AMLO himself protected his long time friend from bribery charges in the US by abusing his executive position. But the be frank, things aren't all that different from before the Spaniards got there....
