  1. There was a similar problem with Czechoslovakian Gypsies during the Soviet era where some doctors would trick Gypsies into surgeries that prevented them from breeding. In both cases, the motive was the same as the culprits considered a class of persons to be beneath them.

There was a similar problem with Czechoslovakian Gypsies where some doctors practiced eugenics by tricking Gypsies into surgeries so they couldn't breed. Also, the founder of Planned Parenthood thought that only the poor and stupid needed free abortions and she thought by encouraging it she could get rid of the filth. In all cases the answer is the same: Arrogance. The culprits consider a class of persons as fundamentally stupid and/or beneath them.

  9. Yes, it is possible to lie. But castes are associated with jobs, so unless you can get out of poverty then people are going to know who you are. Ergo, many lower caste persons are born into horrible jobs while upper caste persons benefit from garden variety nepotism.

  11.  @tipsyhogai5336  CAN, that doesn't mean it's easy. It takes a lot of money to go to med school and thus upper castes are disproportionately represented. Plus the extreme common discrimination that goes down the caste hierarchy exaggerates this trend. For instance, people in the bottom caste are generally forced into unsanitary jobs and treated as filth because of their jobs. Which I mean literally, people will not touch what they touch nor be within breathing distance regardless how clean they are at the moment. The abuse shown in the video is quite possibly down to a single gang of doctors, or hospital, or school. It's totally not legal in India but people get away with stuff like that all the time over there.

  12. Well, they do have a vote and the vote matters, but that's not because they're nice. In India, each state use to be an independent country and many still have their old monarchs who are all vying for control. Ergo, a vote is an effective way to make weighted power-sharing arrangements. Although their claims to have free press are fraudulent.
