@a.k.3659 uppers and anti-depressants are the same

Correction: Meth was in use for a lot more than two decades among the Afrikaners. It only became widespread among the Bantus and Khoisan after Apartheid ended simply because they learned how to make it and meth is cheaper than the indigenous weed.
7
The South Africans also like the indigenous weed variety and cough syrup. Yes, cough syrup. It's cheap and you can get high off codeine if you drink a whole bottle at a time.
6
So's murder
6
District 9 was a demonstration of how the Bantus treat immigrants, with many lines in the movie being direct quotes by Jo-berg residents about the Zimbabweans and Botswanans.
3
Frankly, there are a lot of towns like Orania but most of them stay under the radar.
2
@davidjones3712 I say Afrikaner to mean white African so as not confuse people with Europeans. And the discrepancy is definitely down to how there's no single drug gang running the place. As more blacks got access to the knowledge of how to cook meth it became more widespread.
2
@alexanderhernandez4640 even if that's true that's no reason to condescend
2
@jaydee5472 the average VICE viewer doesn't.
2
Then perhaps you'd like to share his fate?
1
Shut up
1
No, the South Africans make it locally.
1
It's literally what the channel was made for, but a lot of the reporters are idiots who'd rather make political editorials
1
He's definitely highly naïve about and a current recreational drug user.
1
It's a vice
1
@SexyNerd4u and whose fault is that?
1
@SexyNerd4u I was being rhetorical
1
They ain't going to have anything nice to say about him.
1
@user-il5dg4fh7w Even so, simply not being local makes you a target. And the mobs were mostly after loot so anyone who happened to be nearby was robbed and/or beaten.
1
Go away
1
Valuations aren't revenues
1
Hamilton covered this topic better years ago. This idiot keeps trying to play politics and does little original reporting.
1
That's simply not the case here. Look up Hamiton's coverage of the same topic
1
@volk779 There's no one group running the show. Everyone is dirty, figuratively and literal.
1
@volk779 Drug dealers don't discriminate in South Africa. Indigenous weed and khat have been popular since before the Dutch got there, but global trade has brought in heroine from Afghanistan and the Afrikaners learned how to make meth and the trade spread from there all over the country.
1
Not all of them
1
There's politicization to this piece. He blames select governments while debunking his own claims.
1
It varies between countries, and Asia is big and diverse. Most of these remedies come from medicine they used before modern science
1
So?
1
@FixedFace does my name look Bantu to you?
1
Liar
1
Yeah, South Africans are known to kill for a cell phone
1
Weed was widespread in South Africa before Europeans arrived. It's so common that a lot of the blacks don't even know it's illegal.
1
Funny he blames apartheid then immediately debunks his own claim.
1
What happened to Hamilton, anyway?
1
Shut up. Get drafted
1
@crono3339 No, drugs work because they happen to share similarities with brain chemicals, namely dopamine. All sorts of effects can be produced by hijacking natural processes.
1
@farmazooticalz Not if you know anything
1
@zvotaisvfi8678 *methed up
1
That's an interesting stereotype. BTW, Lebanon, Palestinians, and other Arab countries are the big abusers of prescription pills with a distinct preference for anti-anxiety medicine.
