  1. I'd have to contest the assertion gas operated gatlings are better. Revving those things up to speed would make timing a fury of bullets on target tricky. Also, higher rate of fire isn't necessarily better when overheating and limited ammo are big issues with Gatlings. The GAU-8 even intentionally reduces max fire rate and the makers of LMGs usually don't care what the fire rate is as long as the shots are powerful and accurate.
