Weird statement given Ian was discussing mechanical engineering.

When full auto guns were outlawed, current owners weren't required to surrender theirs. When they want to get rid of theirs, they and the buyer have to file with the ATF and pay a tax. That's what Ian meant when he said "fully transferrable." There's a number of collectors items like those floating around if you're willing to attend auctions and buy them.

You can't spell manslaughter without man's laughter. ;)

@tedf1471 Seriously, dude. A sporting gun means it's fun to shoot paper with it. By your definition, sporting guns don't exist. And putting battlefield in quotes is nonsensical.

@vague-rant666 you don't know the meaning of the word

Probably the only prop guns they had on hand....

He doesn't want to get banned from the shooting range...

They're stamped rather than milled and built for reliability rather than high rate of fire. Also, extra weight actually reduces felt recoil.

The Israelis adopted a German submarine....
1
It was made for a reservist army staffed with former militiamen. When this gun was first made, Israel had finally just started paying most of their soldiers.

Guns aren't cell phones. They don't become trash if there's something slightly newer. And what SMG are you referring to that would have replaced the uzi?
1
@tommothedog Uzis cost less and almost never jam. Not an straightforward comparison.
1
@tommothedog I was talking manufacturing costs. Besides, if Israel wanted a better SMG, they would have upgraded the gun they built as it's catered to their specific needs. Guess what?
1
@tommothedog so? The point was the two guns are not equivalent.
1
@tommothedog no one cares what anyone here thinks.
1
They made a functionally similar SMG at the same time, but I can't find any connection between any Czech and Israeli gun, and none are similar enough to be copies of the other.

Define "normal field work."

@wekker090 the IDF reserve corps would beg to differ
1
@wekker090 maybe you just think it's better in training exercises. Most infantry kills actually occur at near point blank range, especially in the Arab world where static warfare is the norm until someone's brave enough to charge up a hill.

The Kibbutzim would agree.....
