  7. Dude, there are more privately owned guns in America than people. You think owning a gun makes you a suspect, then you're about to arrest at least a hundred million people. Reality is nearly all those weapons will only ever be used to shoot paper and deer.

  8. Because almost all of it is expended into paper targets and most of the rest into animals. I mean this literally, as there are +300 people shot per day on average, and only 1/3 of those die, and a little over 1/4 are shot on purpose. Combine that with how there are more privately owned guns in the US than people, you see how most of these weapons are just retained as insurance policies against burglars and the apocolypse rather than part of any plan to use them. Do you own a gun? I wager you do, and it collects dust in a nightstand, making you a fairly typical owner.
