The Azeris wildly exaggerated the effects of their drones even before fighting began just as they wildly exaggerated their progress, claiming that any town where fighting was reported as being already in their hands.

@hulaguhanozturk430 the alleged defeat was fraudulent. The area claimed to be taken was no man's land before the war and since the frontier is thinly defended before the war, the only way to judge if the border moved is by looking at where the military positions moved. No direct evidence of this exists. Truth of the matter is only part of the Azeris actually fought. Plenty of Army officers could be seen on camera doing PR stuff in Baku when they should have been fighting. And there was a flood of activism online from what looked like every English speaking Azeri alive. This was also the cause of prior failures.

@suluayran121 even if that were true, a handful of drones doesn't make Ankara master of the region. But it isn't, as claims that Turkey designed said drone are fraudulent. It was an effort to circumvent US import bans by buying existing drone components for factories in Austria, Britain, Canada and a few other places. Even the bomb rack is imported. Even the engineers running the factory are imported as they're all westerner educated Turkish engineers and western expat engineers. Repeated boycotts of this company cause them to announce new "domestic" components. But in practice they just jerry rig different imported components on. Still a passible drone considering what little they had to work with, though.

@williamdavis9562 that assessment of the damage is wildly optimistic at best. It isn't physically possible for a couple dozen drones to do damage with that many zeros. And you're clearly buying into the sensationized nonsense and chearing on a team. From what I can tell logistics seem to be the deciding factor. Only part of the Russian forces appears to be in Ukraine and a lot of them have run out of diesel. Not surprising in the wide expanses of Eastern Europe.
