  2. To be fair, US embassies have a very different issue from most. They're very bureaucrat, trying to stop common immigration issues with paperwork that only sometimes works, and they're really slow about changing things if there's a problem since everything has to be done from Washington so months long backlogs are common in complicated processes that often takes weeks to get done without backlogs. Some Mexicans said the real reason they migrated illegally was they couldn't be bothered to get permits.
