  1. One super safe reactor was used to power a radar station in Greenland. The only problem was the immaturity of soldiers, as apparently the sergeant in charge yanked out the control rod just to scare/haze a recruit.

  2. ​ @bergonius  Best guess is he only meant to pull it out a few inches which would have been safe, but we don't know for sure because they're dead and reactor had to be disassembled.

  4. That's silly. Most of the equipment in question is decades old and none of this equipment has any resemblance to computers. But more importantly, the "old people don't know technology" became obsolete when they invented the friggin smartphone
