Let's be frank and say we don't know either what created the Dead Sea or killed Sodom and Gamorrah.

Bug off, troll.

Yeah, there's a bunch of sulpher in the area too and at this point in the bronze age it's thought that a lot of mud volcanoes and other natural leaks of hydrocarbons were common. It's also a mystery how this region got so salty.

That was one of a long list of crimes that included highway robbery, torture, murder, incest, and rape. If you'll recall according to Moses, Lot was having some strangers stay at his house, and the whole town showed up demanding Lot send them out so they could fuck them. Lot refused, so they tried to take Lot instead.

This city isn't fighting to prove/disprove Moses' account, but is competing with other theories that each explain all the facts and reports.
1
You saying that because it's a potential Biblical site or because there's only cercumstancial evidence?
1
It's thought that's what happened to Jericho.
1
Depends how many records survive in the distant future. At the rate we're going there will be no question what happened why.

There's a competing theory that Sodom and Gamorrah are at the bottom of the Dead Sea. There's an usual structure at the bottom that doesn't look natural as it has verticle walls and sharp corners that are each are signs of man made structures, especially when the rest of the sea is flat basin.

Is that what we call messangers from God these days? Come now, is it not easier to accept Moses' account at face value and/or assume some Earthly cateastrophy was involved?
1
@MushookieMan he didn't say anything definitively. The right answer is "we don't know and may never know."

Quick! Call Brenden Fraser and tell him bring the bedroll of guns!

Or you, abusive freak show.

There's literally no way for you to know that. The point of this study is to see whatever naturally or miraculous event brought us the iconic reports and the unusual formations in this region.

Not this site as a candidate, though

It basically means they actively berate everyone.

Liars burn in hell. You clearly don't know a thing about the archeology in the area if you actually think that.
