  3. On Feb 20, 2020 during flu season, just before the outbreak of the COVID pandemic in NYC, my mom went to emergency room and found out she had lost a lot of blood. EDG found bleeding at the bottom of stomach and 3 clips were put in to stop the bleeding on the next day by the GI doctor. But she still had unknown internal bleeding and need blood transfusion every day till Feb 25 and GI doctor wanted to discharge her but I said NO. I talked to her case doctor in the hospital that why the specialist doctors didn't do something else to find out why she still losing blood and needed blood transfusion every day. Finally the doctors ordered another special Nuclear imaging test. My mom was injected with solution with reflecting dye to her blood vessels, then a lapse scan camera would take picture every 5 minutes for an hour something like that. From these pictures the doctors were able to locate the exact bleeding location. They had to call the technician who had already done with his shift to return back to the hospital to perform this special test. After the doctors identified the location of bleeding, the doctors had tried multiple different operations to stop the bleeding at the tricky location - the meeting location of the stomach and the intestine (I can't remember all those special names). Finally the surgeon made a hole on my mom's thigh and went up through her vein from to reach up to the bleeding location . For the whole ordeal, my mom had a total of 10 blood transfusions and stayed in the hospital for about 11 days. My mom was on medicare and medicaid so she didn't have to pay a penny. We live in NYC. My mom was so lucky to recover and discharged on 3/02/2020, just 21 days before the lockdown in NYC for COVID on 3/23/2020
