  3. I think it's sad that detectives don't give parents updates on their child's murder. They leave them sitting in the background wondering what is going on. I understand when there's no changes or no leads or possibly they don't know if the leads are going anywhere yet that they don't want to get the hopes up of the parents, but that doesn't mean that you don't let them know what progress has been made if any at all. You know what I'm saying that is just probably the most painful thing for a parent is to not be updated or know that the police are actually trying to attempt to find her killer.
