When youre doing high intensity weightlifting youre actually causing micro tears in your muscle, but when you give it 48 hours of rest those tears heal and now your muscle is bigger. When it comes to building muscle intensity, meaning lifting heavier and heavier weights is better than repetition. Its better to do 5 reps of 200 lbs than 100 reps of 30lbs.

Sure you can grow muscle like that, but progressive overload is time tested method best way to build muscle.
