@bog4240 "Beauty of globalisation" only when it benefits P.R.China. When other countries try to enter P.R.China, suddenly P.R.China is closing in & being protectionism country.. banning companies like Google, Netflix, Uber, Facebook, etc from operating in China.. applying tariffs for steel products imported from Japan, Korea, and Indonesia in 2019😌 .. Indonesia is also in trade deficit with P.R.China, nearly tripled to US$1.3 billion in May 2024. Plus Indonesia budget is clearly under strains from having to pay the debts for Whoosh project, now state-owned construction company involved in Whoosh (PT Wijaya Karya) is under serious financial problem, then KAI (Indonesia Railways) had to increase the ticket price for economy class nation-wide plus for commuter line in Jakarta. It's 80 years of concession to China, so it gonna be a very long time & burden to Indonesia's national budget.

@bog4240 "Indonesia is more benefitted from China than what Indonesia lost" nope.. clearly there are mass layoffs everywhere in Indonesia right now because of P.R.China's dumping which disrupted the textile industry of Indonesia. China also protested Indonesia to WTO because of bauxite and then forbid Indonesia who tried to explore oil & gas reserves in its own EEZ in North Natuna Sea (which is near to the area claimed by China's 10 Dash Lines). Millions of nickels were caught illegally smuggled by P.R.China out from Sulawesi last year & then the environmental cost is also high

@burgeulfassal1523 In the long term China helps disrupting Indonesia's domestic industry. Short term yes there are cheap goods. But long term? Many Indonesians would lose their job, then decrease consumptions, then there would be no economy. Domino effect.

@fendi2785 Lah doi bener kok. Even China is protectionist country which banned many companies such as Netflix, Google, Uber, ChatGPT, Twitter, Facebook, etc. So Indonesia can do the same if the imports have negative impact to Indonesia's economy & labor condition.

@bog4240 Justru adanya dumping tanpa dikontrol itu merusak daya beli masyarakat. Ekonom Faisal Basri & Rhenald Kasali sudah membahas ini kok. Dumping itu jenis predatory pricing, tujuannya memang untuk melemahkan industri di negara tujuan dan mendominasi pasar negara tsb supaya negara tsb ketergantungan padanya. Sekarang dumping itu jelas-jelas menyebabkan PHK massal di industri tekstil & keramik Indonesia, efeknya domino.. gak cuman pekerja Indonesia di sektor tekstil & keramik saja yg kehilangan pekerjaan dan daya belinya turun, ini berdampak ke UMKM yg sepi pelanggan akhirnya bangkrut, berdampak juga ke pengangguran/pencari kerja yg jadi makin sulit mencari kerja akibat bertambahnya saingan mencari kerja sehingga juga gak ada daya beli untuk melakukan konsumsi. Ekonomi gak berputar. Jadi jangan pikir secara jangka pendek (short term) saja, tapi pikir secara jangka panjang/strategis (long term) untuk Indonesia/negara sendiri gimana.

@bog4240 Deindustrialisasi di Indonesia makin terakselerasi dengan adanya dumping dari China dan Indonesia gak melakukan apapun untuk membatasinya. Sekarang industri tekstil & keramik Indonesia udah goyah, PHK massal dimana-mana, daya beli masyarakat turun & pengangguran bertambah.

@BenzoBelly miskin itu ada 2 penyebab: masalah individu atau masalah sistemik. Kalo masalah individu ya berarti kemalasan harus dikurangi. Kalo masalah sistemik, serajin-rajinnya anda tetep aja hasilnya tidak sepadan karena yg salah ada pada sistem pemerintahan/kebijakan makro di luar kendali rakyat. @bog4240 Oh pretty sure P.R.China's territorial claim on North Natuna Sea & bauxite complaint to WTO have reduced Indonesia's ability to explore its own resources. That "Whoosh" project is a debt trap too, burdening Indonesia's economy with 80 years of debt. Not only Sritex but there are many textile industry players which are bankrupt, 758.000 workers in Indonesia had lost their job per August 2023 alone. China's retailers are also coming in Indonesia and set shell companies, using local names to register and act for their behalf, then sourced the products directly from mainland China.. this hurt the local sellers in Indonesia Yes Indonesia's corruption is one of the factor which caused this. But saying P.R.China has no hands to dominate Indonesia and Southeast Asia as a whole is completely a na1ve outlook.

Also KCIC "whoosh" is not cool. It is now burdening national budget with debts, even ticket price for economy class and electric train (KRL) line in Jakarta are being raised by Indonesia Railways, because Indonesia Railways has to pay the debt of KCIC to China. And then again, KCIC cool for China only maybe, not for Indonesia. Because it is China's technological achievement, not Indonesia's. And, because KCIC is not Indonesia's priority actually; Indonesia hasn't even build any railroad network in Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara Timur

Mining sector is "padat modal" means that it cost too much and doesn't absorb many people to become workers. While manufacturing is "padat karya" means that it can open many job vacancies & reduce the unemployment.

China dumping is not only disrupting textile and ceramic industry, Sritex is not the only textile company which laid off its workers & affected by the dumping. Even things like cangkul (shovels) are freely being dumped from China to Indonesia, without any tariffs. Then there are reports that P.R.China's nationals working with tourist visa and created shell companies which goods sourced directly from P.R.China which disrupted the local online sellers in Indonesia. Don't say it's having miniscule effect on Indonesia's economy. It's one of the factor why Indonesians purchasing ability goes down, many Indonesians lost their job.

@bog4240 P.R.China is dumping to all sectors from textile & ceramics, steel products (since 2019), and even things as simple as cangkul (shovels). This disrupted Indonesia's industry & job loss. Sritex for example, is not the only textile company which laid off its employees. There were 758,000 Indonesian workers who had lost their job per August 2023 alone (source: IDXChannel). There are 10 million of unemployed Indonesians, with textile industry went down, then there is no job for them which resulted in the loss of purchasing ability of the people. .. KCIC "Whoosh" project is also burdening Indonesia's national budget. .. Et cetera.

^ The new taxes introduced by government on its own citizens is caused by unnecessary debt from China-built "Whoosh" HSR project which is straining the APBN / national budget of Indonesia, this will goes on until a very long time (80 years of concession). While imposing tariffs to prevent dumping is necessary. Even China is being protectionism country: banning various foreign companies such as Google, Netflix, Facebook, and Uber.. plus imposing tariffs to prevent dumping of steel products coming from Japan & Korea in 2019. There has been lack of prevention toward P.R.China's dumping practices, which disrupted Indonesia's industry and many Indonesians lost their job as the result. Renowned Indonesian economist Faisal Basri & Rhenald Khasali had discussed this problem few months ago.
