  1. Ill tell you this. A week or two ago i bought a used thinkpad online. And had an amazing chat with the previous owner. He was a linux guy too. But later i realised that he was a manager because he hated Macs with a passion. And yes from a managers perspective Macs are expensive. (if you have to buy them in bulk). And yeas devs like teklead are not ops. And linux is ops gold. But as a dev Macs are cheaper than specializing as a DevOp in free time. With family i guess you have different priorities. If you cant buy a Mac for your dev you definately cant pay a devop.
