  1. One can identify as Taiwanese in terms of 'nationality' but he cannot be just Tawainese because for the vast majority, they are ethnically Chinese. So, Chineseis both a race/civilization and a nationality/country

  2. People who think Mainland China wants Taiwan because of Semicon do not understand the history of China or the drivers for reunification. There will be no China (mainland or Taiwan) if anyone on either side drops the one China policy or there is no reunification plan. Chaos will ensue like it has happened numerous times in China's long imperial past. Nothing to do with TSMC or UMC etc...
