@Madame702 your imagination is like putting the cart before the horse. Engineering and adoption takes a long time. In the meantime, what do you do? Industrial activity, defense activity, civilian activity must go on. As I have said China is already doing much to make the transition despite it being at a development stage that other powers didn't give a crap about sustainability when they were at such stage. It is not like flipping a switch! Meanwhile, it needs to protect the sea lanes that bring goods and resources in and out of China which is the original premise of this argument.
