  1. Not enough breakthrough inventions. Too concerned with taking other countries ideas and just try doing them better, cheaper and faster.

In modern times, there aren't many things Chinese truly invented that others are using. Why do you think the chip, software, aerospace industries are struggling? Look at the c919. NONE of the tech that go in it is invented by China. I fact, the c919 is over 60% outright foreign
