You mean like how the US makes it hard for TikTok to do business in the US.. Or Huawei, or ZTE, or solar panel companies or Chinese EV brands?

@posthocprior you have got it wrong. Prior to the central govt cracking down on excessive borrowing (issuance of domestic bonds), many local governments would do so to finance infrastructure projects and real estate development. A lot of that was off the books to dodge having to report them to the central govt. The 'good' thing though is almost all of those debts are denominated in Yuan. Not to international bond holders.

How do you 'accumulate debt' by selling land rights? 😂
1
@posthocprior you sell plot A to an SOE that turns around and sells it to another SOE. You still end up with 1 loan backed by the land, no? And the loan isn't with the local government. It is with the SOE. The local government would have gotten the proceeds.

@posthocprior govts use land to raise money (like many other countries) not to borrow. Bonds are the primary way to borrow. Coupled with 'forced loans' from State owned banks to a lesser degree.

Not for 500 m of Chinese living in big cities. By PPP, their gdp per capita is already 1st world.

OK. You start first

@PacoRomog so you say but we know.. Lol. Even your phone used to type this post of yours is full of Chinese parts. Start with that first.

@PacoRomog very, very high chance that your Asus motherboard is made in the Shanghai / Suzhou factory. I would say over 90%. Lol. If your Asus says made in India or Indonesia or Vietnam or Brazil etc, , no matter.. It's only assembled there. The motherboard still comes from The above-mentioned Chinese factory.

@PacoRomog nah..you should live by what you claim you stand for, a China-hater. And stop using ALL made in China products.

Only Indians spin this kind of garbage narrative. Apple moves less than 10% of iPhone production over 5 years now and Indians shout about apple 'moving out of China'. Too funny
