It is not about Xi. It is about different interpretation of history. On the Chinese side, I can tell you, they have little regard for what the British did, the boundaries they drew etc. China will never accept anything decided (most times unilaterally) by the Brits and will never accept that India thinks it is the inheritor of such. Best to deal as indians, not as British India.

Not at all. You need to be less insecure. 90% of Chinese will engage with you (language barrier aside) with great curiosity and wish to learn about you instead of "looking down" on you. Be less defensive. Chinese people are very friendly and warm...well granted, maybe not in English.

There are many, many Indians in China but they are mostly either professionals or especially STEM and Medical students. They are the best people to understand both China and India but most aren't into geopolitics at all.

Thank God those channels exist instead of just Modi mouthpieces that make you feel like a lion for about 5 minutes.

But can you do that? Look deep down.

@realnapster1522 but what can you do? BTW, Tibetans do not want you also. The real ones in Tibet.

Remaining cautious does not mean India is the "centre of China's foreign policy". When China looks at India (not as often as you think), it sees the west trying to use it for their own gains. @Usersskk

China does NOT see India as inferior...just damaged with a lack of agency with a propensity for bluster and boasting. China uses the west to get out of its "the century of humiliation" and regain its place. India uses the west to "feel good and validated"...very different outlook
