  2.  @DominikKost  A confederation? That would have been easier said than done. The Ukrainians wanted independence, they fought for it both against the Soviets and the Poles after the first world war. The same goes for the Caucasus peoples, there the urge for independence was even bigger and Poland would have had a terrible time dealing with Chechens, Azeris, Armenians, Russians, Cossacks and so on.
