  1. This is a little different than Canada, Australia, or India where the people themselves opted to leave. In this case they were British citizens. Handing them over to a foreign country just because they wanted the territory is not a good justification. Any border exists. Canada didn't Try to invade France over their inhabited island off the south west coast of newfoundland. It's still there, happily coexisting. They had a long dispute with Denmark over an uninhabited island. But that was handled quite politely all things considered. ...But then again the British abandoned the people of Hong Kong.
