I do like flatheads for.... everything but screws.

faaaak, going either way is a pain in the @$$

No question. For wood screws they do an excellent job.

...fasten-ating

pozidrive sounds intriguing.

Robertsons are wayyyy better than Phillips. I am fond of those old triangular heads as well but I haven't seen them in 2 decades.
2
Sad that the guy's name isn't even used.
2
This is the perfect opportunity for you to bring the change yourself. Import Robertsons then sell them on amazon and local stores as non-slip screws/drivers.
2
They do have the coolest name.

At least of the ones we have here.

I have done this, I have also managed with a phillips once or twice.

Allen strips too easily, but definitely better than philips.
1
because they just work so much better for high-torque/speed than phillips. Goodluck getting a phillips deck screw back out.

(definitely not every type, but the most common ones I believe)

I like Torx also, but they seem better as machine screws rather than wood.
1
Only downside to torx is locating them vs a Robertson because of the lack of taper. But then you have more angles which is nice... though for a screw it's less of an issue than a wrench.
1
They should make another move to sell robertsons to construction companies and handymen in the US. The amount of wasted time, screws, bits, and needless stress would be bound to lead people to the alternative, robertson.

Apple has lost its luster these days.

In the North? or everywhere?
