Weird that you haven't done a Windsor, they are everywhere. That said, they seem fairly reliable (mechanically), though maybe the thing that decomissions the vehicle is usually something else?

Those door cups. Man the people who pulled them out not knowing how, broke them, then put a screw through them. Every single good one gets gutted from a car at pick 'n' pull (and probably broken in the process). I should make a 3D model and just put it online because it is BS.

@lordofkiwi5144 Like everything it depends a lot on the year, but to my knowledge the 3.5l v6 is a much better engine in most cases than the 2.0L. I think the 2.3L may also typically more reliable than the 2.0L? But most people I have run into with a 3.5L had little to no issues up to 350,000 (km)

Your mustang is much nicer than our '96 mustang on Fixing W/ Friends lol 🤦♀️

I have met Deb Riss, filthy woman not a fan.

I am not sure if I am geared up for this.

Is resleeving the block worthwhile for such an expensive engine?
1
Well you're going faster than FW/F is on their notably less cool Mustang.
1
lol the oil pump making gargling sounds.

Sometimes belts break before their time

Aside from the missing pieces I would have been very happy with that engine. There is a reason they are so hard to find.
1
I heard these are really reliable. I wonder what someone did.
1
🤔 Do you really read all the comments?

Was it the Car(?)Wizard who actually had a completely different perspective on these engines? Something about an easy fix? Or was that maybe the 4-valve? *No but he did pretty much exclusively blame long oil change intervals. He also said some new engines (from other companies) aren't too bad.
1
How would they not know, wouldn't they take down the engine serial number before selling it?
1
"love to see carnage" no, I just want to see how different engines look with different amounts of wear. Watching your channel makes me depressed. It's like the hospice and all you show us is the morgue.

#ItStillRuns lmao

I am wondering if it ran even after the one piston or rod broke sending metal everywhere. The oil galleries obviously had A LOT of metal running through them before it seized or was shut off.
1
I am glad they returned this.

Can you do a side by side with a duratec, a MZR, an ecoboost, and a zetec? that would be cool. Even if it's just between the Mazda and its ford counterpart.
1
I like those valve covers.

The Criticism.

You need to tell my mother about checking the oil. She may have killed a B16.
1
I would have guessed someone took two several bad engines and dumped the broken pistons/rods into one broken block and put everything else back together to make one junkyard special.
1
I would offer you a late '60s Continental engine but you would have to pay for the non-insubstantial freight. (And I don't think you would want to pay that right now)
1
I just realized if I wore my NB shoes while driving I would be 30% cooler instead of just wearing them at the gym.
1
Didn't Eric The Car Guy cover a bunch of issues on this, or was this a different engine?
1
I actually noticed on the mustang that it was almost exactly as you'd expect a bell to sound.
