  1. but incandescent bulbs have their own problems in the winter (as observed yearly in Canada). NET (in a year) you get a lot less outages since the change. What happened several times a year now only occurs a handful of times. But even if you decide heat is an unacceptable consequence, you can install a single heater on the fixture frame and run them on a thermostat. So 98% of the time it is using less energy.
