  1. Maybe every candidate should post a single video discussing the issues and policies and how they are going to fix it. Then the people watch it and vote. No money wasted on campaign ads, no stupid debates.

  2. The irony is, that kind of is the new 'frat' culture. The people with the check boxes make a little mound of checkboxes, someone climbes to the top and starts shouting at everyone they see below them and hitting them with sticks that say, "you're opressing me". They (the people who act like this not everyone of any racial or gender category) are a collection of all the worst 'fraternity' tropes. Living out their popular kid dreams. So again, by the marketing person's own arguments and campaign they are just shifting the ads to more of the same, just more cronyism.

  4. The difference between social media and your phone is it is optional, you choose to log in and it has controls. Your phone, your mailbox you have to have those (or avoiding it would cause a great deal of effort). They also don't have those controls, you can perhaps block spam or mail after it's been sent but beforehand there is no real way to block them, it is invasive and unavoidable. Same with email. Spam filters work to some extent but we all know they catch things that are emails you want. Better to crach down on spam senders, just as you would people leaving flaming crap on your lawn (though I haven't heard of that happening in decades).
