If it is true for those two Russian military guys, he "wouldn't be", in any country at war. It's not just treason, it's a crime against the state and the constitution, military court. He could have landed somewhere and let them go, before he got to the place of agreement!? An ordinary war crime, for which they are guilty, first this one or pilot and then those Ukrainians who didn't want to capture these two men!

From the Russian perspective he was a traitor, especially because of the fact that he took military equipment and gave it to the enemy army!! From my perspective, he should not have been killed. And who killed him, only the police know, they can say what they want for political reasons. I don't know who and why. Maybe he was dealing with the wrong people or the mafia, and maybe the Ukrainian secret service made some diabolical plans to accuse Russia of sending the hitman!!? Who knows what really happened!!
