But they were preparing for something like genocide, which is not genocide, it is ethnic cleansing, of all who consider themselves Ukrainians who speak the Russian language.   5. Donbas was supposed to hold a referendum for partial independence within Ukraine's administrative borders. That was the solution for Donbass.

  7. No one knows that Crimea was an independent entity in 1993. They had a referendum and became independent from everyone. After that, the Ukrainian government made a military incursion into the Crimean peninsula and took it over. Russia did absolutely nothing
