It has to do with the fact that the USA was never attacked, and secondly they never released anyone in WW2 with the bodies of their army. They helped win the war, but that's all, and anyway they came to Europe in the third third of the war, when it was already coming to an end, that is, somewhere in late 1943, early 1944.
