i taught my daughter to read. she was reading sight words on flash cards at 10 months old because its just memorization. she's still advanced in reading and math skills because she was taught young, at home.

@damionkeeling3103 yes! its also the best time to teach other languages when they are learning to speak their native tongues, too. many people born outside the u.s. are bilingual at least because most foreign schools teach english in grade school along with their native languages.
