@traceyholt8223 lol, since its difficult to read intent in type, i'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not saying you're more qualified than parents of their own children, on what kids need to be taught.
before covid, the majority of parents assumed the basics were being taught in public schools- reading, science, math, history, etc.
public tax dollars should not be given to schools for anything but these activities... however, since the federal government created the dept of education in the 70s, public education has gotten so much worse... especially for lower income people.
teachers today only teach kids how to pass required tests. there is no art, music, shop, home economics, civics... nothing substantial or life skills. hell, they don't even teach kids how to write cursive so they can read our most important documents! yet, we spend more today on education than ever before in history. don't get me started on what they feds did to colleges and how they want every kid to go.. lol. what a waste.
the problems we have today are now generational. the civil rights movement helped so much, yet not for lower income and families of color. in fact, black people (my ancestors), were much better off as far as society was concerned-- more black owned businesses and banking, more married black couples than white couples, better educated children, and more religious practices... because we had to do our own things!
if you look and research history of welfare programs, planned parenthood, and those social programs put into place... our society has gone downhill.
my solution is to send tax dollars to families, not zip codes. it should be up to parents where their kids are best educated, not 'the system'.
