is it true that no one can own property in china for more than 70 years?

@twomix1822 i hope for the best results for chinese citizens. these people in governments all over the world believe they can control us all, too. its best to keep a low profile, be prepared, and learn how to self sustain as best as possible.

@voxpopuli1280 thank you for the information. seems wrong to call something a 'mortgage' if its not owned. it should be classified as rental property. so sad to invest so much only to lose it all and not have anything to pass on to children and future generations.

@twomix1822 when the state owns everything, where does the money they collect continuously on land and properties go? we have eminent domain, where gov't can take private land... but there are strict rules for the reasons why, like infrastructure plans or environmental concerns. the gov't also pays the property owner for taking it (not always at a fair market price, too). letting people own land is a way to ensure future generations can thrive... with 1.4 billion population, seems like it would allow multiple generations to live in the same place and that would help old and young alike. i don't think i could be used to socialist or communist governments where no one can gain the ability to raise his income class or move up or inherit from one's family...
