  1. marriage has always been about the commitment. then gov't got involved (mostly to deter inbreeding, which still happened at higher levels because they were gov't.. lol). today, the act of marriage is expensive, and even more so to get out of it. two people who are committed to each other do not need government involvement or religious involvement, its really between just the two people.
