@JohnMoseley there's a difference? I'd say the difference between which and who and whose. I never liked calling people "that." it sounds so impersonal.

You've forgotten the most famous split infinitive: Star Trek's "To boldly go where no man/one has gone before." I've always split infinitives and always will. And I do believe it was Churchill who said also, "A preposition is a horrible thing to end a sentence with." When I found that quote , I happily embraced it! However, I know I'll have to ditch some other things I've been clinging to: that "fewer" is better than "less." I'll just use it myself because I prefer it, and just not call out anyone on it. Just in my head. I think I can more easily allow "none" to be "not any" as well as "not one." I shall not bother anyone else with it. What do you think about comparatives and superlatives? I've found more and more often (oftener?) that people will use "more" when the comparative is the suffix "-er." "more happy, more sad, more fluffy" instead of "happier, sadder, and fluffier." Will I have to let go of those, too?
