Please quit saying "theory" when you mean "hypothesis." A hypothesis is a guess, a surmise about the presented evidence, that a person puts forth as a possible explanation of the evidence given. A theory is a vetted hypotheses that does these things: Explains all the evidence. Any testing produces consistent and reproducible results. The findings predict logical consequences of the research that are later proved true, reproducible, and consistent with the old and new evidence. Anybody can give a hypothesis and try to explain the evidence. It takes lots of study and research to elevate a hypothesis to a very useful theory.
