@SpeedRacerXM5 Every time a spacecraft at NASA failed and public opinion was queried should we continue to go to space or not, the resounding answer was yes, let's continue to go to space. Ad Astra per Aspera

As an avid space fan and regular citizen, I urge every engineer, physicist, aerospace employee, STEM expert, and rocket scientist to communicate like this from the CEO down to the QC inspector and back up to the CEO. Mom was a QC employee at TI checking diodes. She knew that the Apollo 1 disaster involved a faulty diode. She made sure that every diode she checked was as good as it was required to be. No diode on her watch was going to cause any more deaths. Mom was on the front line with manufacturing: the buck (of the diodes) stopped with her. Set hard and soft limits for temperature and weather for rocket launched. There are reasons for hard limits like for O-rings. Freeze them and they fail like on the Challenger shuttle. An astronaut these days might not need to do Calculus, but being an expert at their spacecraft is so important. (but don't forget algebra)
