I hope that SSA.gov gains, regains, or reestablishes their sovereignty over the administration such as they had to begin with. It was supposed to first help penniless widows as a safety net should they lose their living through the death of their spouse dying. Now it covers people who are retired who face poverty along with disabled who face the same thing because they can't work because of disability. It is this kind of power I'd like to see them sustain. At least Social Security is funded separately and is an independent agency to begin with.
