We have been in this pandemic only a little more than a year. The 1918 H1N1 flu pandemic lasted over 2 years, and, for a much longer time, Americans didn't get a vaccine, only military. Only when San Francisco mandated people wear face coverings did that pandemic slow down. Yes, masks work. They were instrumental in Kentucky totally mashing down the first 2 spikes. And they are instrumental in Kentucky returning to before - October statistics. It is simple. Easy to get. Easy to use. And compared to last year, the time to April 29 is a drop in the bucket. It's no time at all. Pres. John F. K Kennedy said to Americans, "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." And we started our rich, extraterrestrial journey. It required a great, national sacrifice. President Biden is only asking us to wear a mask for one hundred days. What hardship is that?

@MobileAura Troll! Yes non - NIOSH masks work. They have to be worn properly like any mask. I wear my Mask for you and everyone else. You know what? It works. We have proved this in Kentucky over and over, time and time again. We know what's right. Let's do it #maskUpKentucky #MaskUpAmerica #washyourhands #sixfeetapart Because #wewillgetthroughthis #wewillgetthroughthistogether

Politicians are notorious for breaking rules. They also touch their masks at the middle which is a big nono. They have had Superspreader events from which many of them tested pairing for Covid - 19. Do what's right, not what everyone else does. You know what to do : #MaskUpAmerica #MaskUpKentucky #washyourhands #sixfeetapart Because #wewillgetthroughthis, #wewillgetthroughthistogether

I can't see Schiff doing this. It's not his style. What kind of legacy is it to bow out of a race this close to the election? If he wanted to say something, why now? Why not before the primaries? I suspect money changing hands here. This is not the time to bow out. Not in a race with high stakes.

See you in ICU. The variants are in America now.

I noticed something when I wear a mask, but I didn't notice it till friends of mine allergic to pollens said it: that they didn't sneeze or suffer allergies nearly as much with the mask on. I realized I never sneezed with a mask on. How about that!

#wearamask #sixfeetapart #washyourhands #MaskUpKentucky #wewillgetthroughthis #wewillgetthroughthistogether It shows KY as lifting restrictions, but that isn't anywhere close to 100% like TX. Restaurants and bars are still being required to be at about 60-70% with the caveat that if the cases and deaths start to rise again to shut down again. And we are still required to wear masks. We in KY have had consistently lower numbers of infected and dying compared to our neighboring states. KY has a world class distribution mechanism and a distribution rate of upward of 70% of vaccines received, sometimes over than 100% in using vaccine that had been received the previous week. We are administering vaccine as quickly as it comes in and gets distributed. All that is holding us back is supply. Our vaccinated people are at least 12% of our population. And it is working. Seniors in nursing homes have drastically reduced in infections and deaths. We will see this continue when vaccinations get more and more available. We are waiting for more vaccines, for our "Shots of Hope." We in KY are following our Governor who is following the CDC and the Whitehouse. And we're getting through it together.

Not going to argue. Our one problem is the problem every state is having: supply, supply, supply.

That doesn't even mean anything. Speak standard American English and you might get understood.

@varietygameplayandmore8189 Suit yourself, but I don't want to be around your spittle. By the time 100 days rolls around, we should have most people vaccinated.

More than flipping the bird to American taxpayers, there are thousands of clerks who depend on their government jobs for their living ( NOT including Social Security receivers). They are flipping the bird to all the government front line workers, not just military—many who also work at a computer— but also people who work at the Census Bureau, FDA, FCC, USDA, and many other government organizations. Including Congress and their own clerks. These workers are the bottom of the pay hierarchy (not Congress) , yet they—like in all other businesses—are expected to shoulder all the burden of directly providing services while Congress decides whether they will eat tomorrow or not. Whether they get $15.00/hr or nor. Whether they retire or not. Whether they can get hired or not. Congress toys with the lives of so many people.

That was a mix of 2 words he stumbled over. You could hear the next word was "next." That was not even a context in which he would have said the N word. And closed captions absolutely translate wrongly and consistently a certain percentage of words. You are trolling.

@GlytchGames Hey, Glytch! I am a big nail biter. God's truth. I strip my nails back past the quick. It hurts. But I do it. I've done it all my life. Know when I don't do it? When I have my mask on. Know what else? I don't pull on the middle of my mask or set it down anywhere. I carry another mask to change into when necessary. In a clean, new Ziploc bag. Oh, and another thing: not everybody is in the military or marching band. When you are at attention, your hands stay at your sides. Or on the instrument. They go NOWHERE near your face. Got an itch? Let it torture you. Learn new coping mechanisms. NEVER touch your face. Not at attention. Not everybody has that discipline, for sure. We do our best. But even the worst nail biters (and worse) can learn not to touch their face till they've washed their hands. Hm. I knew marching band had to be good for something. 😊

@evilwestsidefan9249 Virus can stay in the air a long time, and some research shows droplets can travel farther than six feet. And have you tried to stay away from people in a grocery? I look at empirical evidence. First, watch the video of Bill Nye trying to blow out a candle with a mask on, even a few inches away (he couldn't). Second, I love smelling fresh basil in the grocery, and I'll take a big whiff of it as I walk by it. Lovely! I tried it with a mask on, and I couldn't smell it even inches from my mask. Not even if I wafted it toward me. THAT is why you wear your mask!

@michaelwood5519 True, you are missing half the PPE to protect yourself. Masks aren't, for the most part, for me. They are for everyone else my exhalations, spittle, and sneezes and coughs might get on. I wear my mask for everyone else. And so do you. The more people wear masks, the more people protect each other. In a way, it is a dynamic way to physically and visibly model what happens when a pathogen can't reach another person. A virus that can't even get into the air won't infect anyone. Masks provide a form of herd protection.
